(More customer reviews)Make sure you've given yourself an hour to put this together. The instructions aren't very clear about precisely how the parts attach. Try practicing on a couple of parts before going whole hog--I put most of it together only to realize I was not putting the connecting tabs in just the right place.
Also, the port and canal (the end red pieces) seem to be of slightly different plastic and break more easily than the blue--my red canal broke off right at the tab, and all the water leaked out there every time I filled it no matter what else I tried (like duct tape!). (However, the company sent me a replacement part (for free) when I called their customer service line--terrific service.)
As a result, keep in mind that the arrangement you choose (you can configure it in different ways) is pretty much permanent. Theoretically you could take it apart and put it back a different way, but it's so time consuming, and the risk of breakage so high, it's not worth it. So I picked the layout that used the most pieces and was the most interesting / easy to play with (which happens to be the one pictured). Also, it's pretty big, so keep in mind you're not going to be taking it apart for storage, either.
My son spends hours playing with this toy and all our little guests love it too. I wish I could give it a higher overall review, but the pain in the rear to piece it together, the considerable difficulty of taking it apart to store or reconfigure (read: not going to happen), plus the chance of ruining the whole toy with one small break, makes it tough to recommend more highly.
