(More customer reviews)We bought the 24 ft pool at the beginning of summer 2010. It took 2 of us only about 1-2 hrs to set the pool up. We already had a flat and level yard area, so we didn't have to do any real prep work. It took 2 days for the pool to fill with our standard garden hose. The cost of our water was only $40.00. We built a deck instead of using the supplied wobbly ladder. We have had a great summer because of this pool. We do not have any trees near the pool, so it stays pretty clean. We vacuum once per week. We have to run the pump/skimmer 12 hours per day. We also got the SALT CHLORINATOR.... AMAZING!!! We had to put like 240lbs of salt back in April... haven't had to add anymore since. We have never had to add chlorine. We have never had to shock. We have never had to add pH increaser or reducer. The pool has stayed perfectly balanced chemically since the day we set it up! 240lbs of salt cost about $40.00 . That is ALL we have spent in "chemicals" since March. It's September now. The salt chlorinator does have to be cleaned every 2-3 months to keep green copper patina from getting on the plastic pool parts.
The only thing we don't like is that the filter really has to be replaced at least monthly... if not every 2 weeks. We do pull the filter out and spray it off with a hose every week when we vacuum... but after 2 weeks it seems to get clogged faster. If you don't mind spraying off the filter every 3 days after the first 2 weeks then you're good for a month. Filters are about $10.00 a piece. We order them from Amazon. That's $20.00 per month, which is $240 per year. That is also considering we live in Florida and do not have any trees within 100 feet.
In person the pool is quite HUGE. The 24' holds 12500 gallons of water. That is more than some of our friend's inground pools that they spent $30,000 on. We have had 6 people on loungers in the pool and there is room to float around. Without floaties we have had like 12-16 people comfortably at once.
For the price... even if it lasts only 2 years... it's worth it1 We could get a new one every 2 years if we had to. It's only been 1 summer, but the pool looks great! It's clean, no staining, no holes or tears... minimal cleaning and maintenance required. With the salt chlorinator it's been perfect. NO, it does not taste like salt, nor does it smell like salt. We have never had growth, algae, cloudiness, etc. We are in full sun for the WHOLE day though... we have no shaded areas. The rain has not bothered it either.
